Good science fiction is based on sound
scientific principles. The author has tried to follow that rule. As you
might well appreciate, it is difficult to find good science in the
field of UFOs and ETs. The hard evidence is lacking, at least in the
public domain. It is difficult to say how much evidence exists in
government warehouses and at top secret bases; they aren't talking. To
the greatest extent possible, this book draws on the body of knowledge
contained in such fields as astronomy, cosmology, physics,
anthropology, genetics, etc... to tie a lot of the UFO issues together
in one coherent picture, it provides an explanation of the sciences
contained in the field of UFOlogy, ranging from logic to support the
existence of extraterrestrial intelligent (ET) life; evidence for ET
intervention in human development as recorded by the Sumerians;
evidence for ET contact through crop designs; explanation of how UFOs
do the amazing things they have been seen to do and much more.
Colonel Mitchell's face paled as he looked into the briefcase the
President had just opened before him. "Colonel, I believe that device
you're looking at is a key, not only to our national security but also,
to the survival of humanity as we know it. You have carte blanche to
assemble the best team you can to discover the alien secrets contained
in there. Time is critical. To avoid world-wide panic, secrecy is of
utmost importance. Do you understand?"
In this well researched book, Farrell does an excellent job of telling
a story about how a super team races to decode an alien artifact before
the aliens try to stop them. But more than telling a solid story,
Farrell presents years of research on UFO theory in easy-to-understand
prose.
In Alien Log, Farrell has proven himself to be not only a
well-researched scientist, but a fine craftsman and writer who remains
true not only to his argument, but to his characters and his love of
the subject as well.
